THE THREE STOOGES!!! No food...but smiles and giggles for the entire day!

Today I spent a few hours at the Three Stooges Museum in Ambler, PA

If you're a Three Stooges Fan, this is a must see!  It's a very inexpensive way to spend an hour or two.

The museum is filled with Posters, pictures, videos, tons of information about the Stooges, cast members!

The Theater runs the Stooges films the whole time.  A real clean and great way to spend some time!!!

Highly recommended!!

Easy do...Peanut Butter and Cashew Fudge!!

I discovered this inadvertently when making cashew cheese!

This is relatively easy, much less fat then regular fudge and no dairy!

Make Raw Cashew Butter (the same as peanut butter, but using cashews, about a cup-this should be smooth, not chunky), set aside.  Take 1/8 of the container of Quava Paste, add a tiny bit of Sea Salt mix well.  Add about 1/4 cup of chunky, all natural peanut butter (easy to make yourself!  See below), (you can add some spun honey - the solid kind, if you want it sweeter) mix all ingredients.  Spread on a round or square container, refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.  Done!!!  Yummy!!

Making Peanut or Cashew butter is easy.  You can use a high speed blender (like a Vitamix), blend until you have the consistency you want.

Try it...let me know how you like it!!

Appetizer idea...!!! Low fat, tasty...

I was inspired by a TV show and will be developing this idea tomorrow.

Going to make Cashew/Quava cheese, Roast Pablano Peppers, seasonings, etc.

Will fill the roasted peppers with the Cashew Cheese, roll them, then coat them with chopped Almonds.

Attempting to substitute this for the traditional Jalapeno Poppers!  Less fat from cheese and being fried.

Trader Joe's..."ADDICTIVE!"

Friends,  My wife started going to Trader Joe's a few years back.  Every time she came back, instead of spending the $30/40 she had planned, she spent $100!

This, however, is not such a problem!  Trader Joe's is amazing and addictive!  Now...I go there too!  I went there the other day for a "few" items.  Yup...you guessed it!  Came out spending $75!

They have some great, unique items there and they are always super helpful.  Who ever designed their training model and people should be highly commended!  Great, just great!

If you can find a Trader Joe's in your area....check them out...bring extra money!!

Here's a link. Find one near you...

Easy Grated Cheese Substitute...real tasty, too!!

Most of us want to cut down on high fat foods...and unfortunately, cheese is a high fat food.  I use to (and still do!) love cheese, just eat very little of anymore.

I made a Quinoa & Rice Pasta (I used Rotini, it seems to hold the sauce better), used a Vegan Marinara Sauce and topped it off with the following "faux grated cheese."

In a high speed blender (i.e. Vitamix), blend 1 1/2 cups of raw cashews, the lemon zest of one lemon/choppedand a pinch of Sea Salt.  Blend until the consistency of grated cheese.  Sprinkle on top of your pasta...

Try it...you might like it!!  -:)

New Healthy cooking show...Some very cool ideas!!!

I happened to be surfing the cooking shows the other day and came across this cool show.

http://upwave.com/eat

They were having a contest and the contestants had to come up with "very creative" dishes.  One of the Chefs came up with a cashew cheese, using Quava Paste.

I like taking some of the ideas, then adapting it to my own recipes or develop something from the ideas they show on Upwave.

It's worthwhile checking out the web site for cooking tips, ideas and recipes.  The recipe below was one of the winners.  Very cool idea!!

Personal Chef...No, but close...

Bloggers,

I came up with a cool idea.  Let me know if you are interested or what you think.

Since I do a lot of cooking (all vegetarian), some baking - I thought that I would make an offer.

If you are looking for or are in need of a particular dish, recipe, adaptation of a non-vegetarian dish...Send me a note and I will try to develop a tasty, vegetarian version for you.

I don't use dairy, oils or refined sugar.  Also, most dishes are gluten free.

Yeeks, Yell, Yup..."YELP!"

Yelp.

Love this app!  If you don't have it on your cell phone, you're missing a great app.

Since I perform a lot, particularly in the Tri State, 5 County area...I eat out, frequently.  I really rely on Yelp for a rating.  If Yelp gives it 4-5 star rating, it's very accurate.  On the same hand, if Yelp gives it a 1-2 star rating, it's also on  target.

The other day I went out to lunch and a friend told me about this Indian restaurant, she had heard was very good.  I went and ordered...duh...without checking Yelp.

The food was mediocre at best. While there, I checked Yelp.  Of course, Yelp had rated it 2 stars with "mediocre" reviews.  A lesson learned...should have checked Yelp!!!

By the way...Yelp is good for checking out just about any business...

Including a great Magician!!!
